Theatrical performance: „Kod kuće“

The Museum of the 90s invites you to attend At Home, an original performance by Jelena Kvat-Faslem that explores the themes of (e)migration, identity, belonging, and home.

What experiences and emotions accompany those who have voluntarily or involuntarily left their country of origin? How do we cope with separation from familiar people, places, and languages? What does it mean to integrate into a new environment, and is it possible to find a sense of “home within oneself”?

Drawing on the language of contemporary anthropological theatre, the performance approaches these questions through the lens of the author’s personal experience and biography—from growing up in Belgrade during the 1980s and 1990s, through the social changes of the 2000s, to moving abroad and re-examining questions of identity and belonging.

The performance is based on texts by Dubravka Stojanović, Dragoslav Mihailović, Hermann Hesse, Robert Alan Aurthur, and Bob Fosse, as well as the performer’s own writings.
