Panel discussion “How to Teach a Forgotten Holiday”

November 30 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
On the occasion of November 29–30, the former Yugoslav Statehood Day, we recall Bogdan Bogdanović and Mensur Seferović—two friends, creators, and anti-fascists whose work shaped Mostar, Yugoslavia, and our cultural heritage. One was a historian and writer, author of books on anti-fascist Mostar, and the other an architect and author of Mostar’s “Partisan Memorial.” Both received the city’s highest honor, the February 14 Charter, and Bogdanović was also named an honorary citizen of Mostar. Because they opposed Milošević’s regime, they were forced into exile, yet continued their creative work and collaboration in Chicago and Vienna.
These themes will be discussed at the panel “How to Teach a Forgotten Holiday” at M90 on November 30 at 6 pm. Participants: Dubravka Stojanović, Zlatoje Martinov, Mare Janakova Grujić, Selena Seferović, and Rade Veljanovski.
