Panel discussion “Belgrade is Pazar is the World – Resistance in Novi Pazar in the 1990s and Today”

On Tuesday, February 10, at 7 PM, the panel discussion “Belgrade is Pazar is the World – Resistance in Novi Pazar in the 1990s and Today” will take place at the Museum of the Nineties.
During the wars of the 1990s, Novi Pazar and the entire Sandžak region were not only marginalized and demonized in Milošević-era media, but were also sites of war crimes, as well as serious and systematic human rights violations and ghettoization. Most citizens of Serbia were unaware of these events at the time, and unfortunately, they remain largely unknown to the wider Serbian public today. This is why it is not surprising that students of the State University of Novi Pazar say that only by joining the current student protests did young people from this region feel, for the first time, that they are equal citizens of Serbia.
About the events of the 1990s, the current situation at the State University of Novi Pazar, and collective reflections on what comes next, you will hear from:
Aida Ćorović, activist
Antonela Riha, journalist
Emina, student
Enes, student
Dragan Popović, historian
