KUPEK’s 15th Birthday Celebration

As part of the celebration of Kupek’s 15th birthday, a book promotion of “Pesak pjeskare” by Milenko Bodirogić and a screening of the film “Ramizovo ljeto” by Dejan Kožul will be organized.

By selecting historical events from our region the author takes readers back to 1920, tracing connections from that period to the end of the 20th century, as well as our own era.

This novel is a testimony that, like the frequently mentioned painting in the book, “Self-Portrait with a Memorial” by Ismet Mujezinović, speaks of everything that influenced the great Yugoslav painter to pause and warn society about the wrong paths it has taken…

Screening of the film “Ramizovo ljeto”

Ramiz Berbić is a former miner who experienced an accident in the Lipnica mine near Tuzla in the late 1980s. He is a former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina… The accident, the war, and the conservative environment in which Ramiz lives have brought him to the edge. The system was not benevolent, but instead of despairing, Ramiz decides to go out into the street and first speak about the mentally ill, and then about all the victims of distorted systems and societies – from the victims of war crimes, genocide, to the victims of homophobia. Time passes, and Ramiz still stands alone in the main square of Tuzla.
