She was a fighter for human rights, social justice, and animal protection. We remember her as a Romani feminist and peace activist. Her activism was never in the spotlight or neatly packaged for social media \u2014 it was a daily, hands-on response to the needs of people and street animals, work that mostly remained under the radar.<br \/>Borka\u2019s story is part of the neglected history of our movements, a history that calls on us to redefine our understanding of activism and our relationship to older activists who have paved the way for us.    <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">n our effort to open space for a feminist future, we document the histories of our movements, especially those pushed to the margins, such as Romani women\u2019s history. We revise the white, dominant, and variously privileged narrative about ourselves, and we gather to remember, to question, to speak, to mourn, and to reflect. From these processes emerged the short film \u201cBorka: From the Verb \u2018To Fight\u2019\u201d, produced by Befem, which we will screen on February 18, 2026, at 6 PM at the Museum of the 1990s. The screening will be followed by the announcement of a publication on Borka\u2019s life and engagement, along with a community conversation about mutual care within movements.
