On Tuesday, February 10, at 7 PM, a panel discussion titled \u201cBelgrade Is Pazar Is the World \u2013 Resistance in Novi Pazar in the Nineties and Today\u201d will be held at the Museum of the Nineties. <\/p>\n
During the wars of the Nineties, Novi Pazar and the entire Sand\u017eak region were not only marginalized and demonized in media controlled by Slobodan Milo\u0161evi\u0107\u2019s regime, but were also sites of war crimes, as well as severe and systematic violations of human rights, including the long-term ghettoization of the population. At the time, most citizens of Serbia were unaware of these events, and unfortunately, very little is still known about them in the broader public today. <\/p>\n
In this context, it is not surprising that students of the State University of Novi Pazar say that only by joining the contemporary student movement have young people from this region felt, for the first time, that they are equal citizens of Serbia.<\/p>\n
Speakers will address the events of the Nineties, the current situation at the State University of Novi Pazar, and collective reflections on how and where to move forward:<\/p>\n
