SUMMARY:Call for Applications – Paid Internship Program within BEYOND
DESCRIPTION:Within the project BEYOND – Balkans Engagement for Youth: Opportunities\, Networking\, Development\, a call is open for young people who wish to gain practical experience through the European Civic Service program. \nThe program offers young people the opportunity to engage in activities that contribute to the local community and\, through hands-on work\, develop knowledge and skills in the fields of culture\, tourism\, and civic engagement. \nParticipants will have the opportunity\, through practical work and mentorship support\, to take part in developing initiatives that contribute to the improvement of Belgrade’s cultural content and tourism offer\, as well as the development of new cultural programs and activities for the local community. \nThe program is implemented in cooperation with the following organizations:Museum of the NinetiesKC Grad \nThe program includes:● engagement in Serbia for 20–24 hours per week over a period of 6 months● mentorship support and joint educational activities throughout the program● monthly financial support in the amount of €300 during the program \nDuring the program\, participants will have the opportunity to gain experience through the following activities:● participating in the preparation and implementation of cultural programs and events● contributing to the development of initiatives that connect culture\, tourism\, and local development● gaining experience working in civil society organizations and cultural institutions● developing teamwork\, communication\, and project management skills \nThe engagement may include different areas\, depending on participants’ interests\, such as:1. event production2. project coordination and administration3. digital communications and marketing4. audience development and cultural tourism5. fundraising6. work in galleries and museums \nWho can apply?The call is open to young people who:● are 18–30 years old● are interested in civic engagement and community work● are motivated to contribute to the development of cultural initiatives through practical work \nThe program is open to all young people — prior professional experience is not required. We especially encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds\, identities\, and interests. By purchasing a ticket\, you support the work of the Museum of the Nineties.  \nA staged reading of the play The Conspirators by Igor Štiks and Vladimir Arsenijević\, based on the KROKODIL series Common Reading Room. \nDirected by: Boris Liješević\nPerformed by: Svetozar Cvetković\, Isidora Minić\, Dejan Dedić\, Marko Grabež \nWhat happens when\, breaking all laws of space and time\, Bogdan\, Borka\, Mirko\, Sem\, Predrag\, Svetlana\, Saša\, Miroslav\, Daša\, and Danilo meet? And what is their connection to the writers whose surnames are Bogdanović\, Pavićević\, Kovač\, Mehmedinović\, Matvejević\, Slapšak\, Hemon\, Krleža\, Drndić\, and Kiš? What kind of conspiracy are they part of? What kind of action are they calling us to?    \nBased on texts published in the Common Reading Room series\, this exciting blend of voices—a linguistic and artistic polyphony—convincingly shows that\, although we now find ourselves divided into different countries\, and many of us scattered across the world\, we are not strangers to one another. Because in literature\, there are no passports. The bonds that connect us\, rooted in a shared language and a rich literary heritage\, are far stronger than the destructive forces that have produced more harm in recent decades than we could have ever imagined.The Conspirators speaks about that harm\, but also about a conspiracy for a different\, better future. Literature plays a key role in it\, as imagination is more important today than ever before. Readers and audiences—those who speak\, use\, create\, and breathe a shared language—are invited on a journey\, or rather an adventure\, of reading\, discovery\, understanding\, and thought. Wherever they may be\, that language belongs to them.This is a statement of resilient optimism and a firm belief that the bonds on which the literary republic of the European South rests will endure.       \nDespite everything. SUMMARY:Yugo.logo: Signs by the Roadside - Exhibition by Ognjen Ranković i Antonio Karača
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition „Yugo.logo: Signs by the Roadside” is opening on April 18th at 19:00!  \nThe exhibition presents a selection of logos and visual identities created across the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The project’s authors\, graphic designers Ognjen Ranković and Antonio Karača\, have spent years systematically collecting and researching this material\, which they have brought together under the name  Yugo.logo.. The exhibition presents a portion of their extensive collection\, directing our attention to a time when graphic design played an important role in shaping public space\, industrial production\, and everyday visual culture. The logos on display are not merely traces of former companies\, cultural institutions\, and brands\, but also testimonies to a broader system of values\, aesthetic norms\, and social aspirations. Positioned between East and West\, and in dialogue with contemporary global design trends of the time\, the Yugoslav graphic design scene of the second half of the twentieth century developed a distinctive and authentic visual language. This language was at once functional\, modern\, and closely connected to the needs of a developed industrial and public sphere. Despite the temporal distance and radically transformed conditions of production and the market\, the works presented here continue to retain their formal clarity\, precision\, and aesthetic relevance. Their visual economy\, wit\, and ability to communicate the identity of a company or institution through the interplay of letters\, words\, forms\, and stylized motifs confirm that these are works of enduring design value\, transcending the historical framework of their origin.       \nA particular value of the Yugo.logo project lies in its documentary dimension. Following the breakup of Yugoslavia\, a large part of the material and immaterial heritage related to industry\, production\, and applied art was left neglected\, fragmented\, or irretrievably lost. In this context\, what Yugo.logo achieves through collecting\, systematizing\, and publicly presenting this material constitutes an important act of cultural revaluation. The exhibition title    “Signs by the Roadside” further guides the reading of this material toward symbols that were present in everyday life for decades\, and which today endure as visual remnants of a former social and economic system\, as well as of a shared cultural heritage. \nOgnjen Ranković\nBorn in 1991 in Belgrade\, Serbia. Self-taught designer\, researcher\, archivist\, and collector. Independently and as part of various teams\, he has participated in the realization of more than 150 commercial projects and over 50 projects in the field of independent culture. He is the founder of the Yugo.logo project\, the author of two Yugo.logo books\, and co-author of 20 yugo.logo exhibitions (Serbia\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, Montenegro\, Croatia\, North Macedonia\, and Italy).    \n\nAntonio Karača\nBorn in 1988 in Požega\, Croatia. Designer\, publisher\, mentor\, and lecturer. He completed his Master’s degree in Visual Communications Design at the University of Zagreb. He is the recipient of multiple recognitions and awards in the field of visual communication and identity design. Since 2010\, he has been a member of Parabureau\, Fahrenheit / McCann Erickson\, and Craft. Since 2017\, he has worked independently as the founder of the Radnja studio (Zagreb).        2023. In 2023\, he launched the Radnja publishing house\, which has so far published two Yugo.logo books and three music albums by artists from the region.. \nYou can visit the exhibition untill Maj 19th\, everyday from 10:00 – 20:00.  \nThe ticket price is 300 RSD.
