SUMMARY:Screening of the documentary film “Zemlja” + talk with the authors
DESCRIPTION:Join us on May 21 at 7 PM for the screening of the film “Zemlja” followed by a discussion with the authors. \nDocumentary film “Zemlja – The Land That Remembers\, The Land That Forgets” explores how narratives about the past are shaped in Bosnia and Herzegovina thirty years after the genocide in Srebrenica. Through the stories of young people\, teachers\, journalists\, and activists\, the film raises questions of collective memory\, education\, and the ways in which history is passed on to new generations. \nFollowing the lives of two students growing up within parallel\, often opposing systems\, the film highlights deep social divisions and differing interpretations of recent history. It focuses on themes of genocide denial\, fragmented education\, and the role of media and civil society in the process of confronting the past. \nAfter the screening\, there will be a discussion with the film’s authors Tatjana Đorđević and Joshua Evangelista\, moderated by Jelena Petković. \nThe film is in Serbian and English\, with English subtitles. \nThe number of seats is limited. Tickets priced at 300 RSD are available at the Museum of the Nineties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) every day from 10 AM to 8 PM. By purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

SUMMARY:Book Promotion: "Brzina mraka". The Political Activity of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1989 to 1996
DESCRIPTION:May 20\, 2026 at 7 PM \nThe Museum of the Nineties is organizing a presentation of the book “Brzina mraka” The Political Activity of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1989 to 1996 by historian Edin Omerčić (Institute for History in Sarajevo). . \nThe book examines the role of the Serbian Orthodox Church during the pivotal years of the Yugoslav crisis and the wars of the 1990s\, with a particular focus on the relationship between religion\, politics\, and memory culture. At the center of the author’s research is the way reinterpretations of the Second World War contributed to the mythologization of the past and the transformation of social values in accordance with dominant nationalist ideologies. \nOne of the key questions the book raises is whether such political activity led to a return to faith\, or whether faith itself was marginalized in favor of ideological goals. \nSpeakers: \n\nVukašin Milićević\, theologian\nIvan Ejub Kostić\, political scientist\nEdin Omerčić\, author\n\nModerated by: \n\nMilivoj Bešlin\, historian\n\n\nThe number of places is limited. \nTickets at a price of RSD 300 are available at the Museum of the Nineties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. \n\n\nBy purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

SUMMARY:“Hymn of the Balkans” — The Cultural and Political Mission of Elodie and Čedomilj Mijatović
DESCRIPTION:May 19\, 2026 at 7 PM \nThe Museum of the Nineties and the music journal New Sound invite you to a lecture by Prof. Dr. Marijana Kokanović Marković (Academy of Arts\, University of Novi Sad) dedicated to the forgotten composition Union is Strength (“Hymn of the Balkans”)\, composed in 1899 by Hungarian composer Kálmán Roth-Rónay to lyrics written by Elodie Mijatović\, wife of Serbian diplomat Čedomilj Mijatović. \nCreated on the occasion of the First Hague Peace Conference in 1899\, the composition symbolized the idea of Balkan unity\, as well as the cultural and political ties between Serbia and Great Britain\, actively promoted by the Mijatović couple. \nThe lecture will explore the origins of this nearly forgotten work\, while also shedding light on the broader diplomatic\, cultural\, and political activities of Elodie and Čedomilj Mijatović and their role in the international affirmation of Serbia at the end of the 19th century. \nAs part of the event\, the performance of the Balkan National Anthem will be held in the house of the Mijatović couple\, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the building of the house in Kneza Miloša Street. \nThe composition will be performed by: \n\nRadoslava Vorgić Žuržovan (soprano)\nDarija Čanji (violin)\nNevena Sovtić (piano)\n\nAn introductory talk on the history of the house will be given by Petar Marković\, its current owner. \nThe number of places is limited. \nTickets at a price of RSD 300 are available at the Museum of the Nineties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. By purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

SUMMARY:My Nineties – Conversations on Personal Experiences
DESCRIPTION:At the Museum of the Nineties\, we often introduce new program formats. One of them will now become a regular addition to our permanent exhibition\, titled “My Nineties – Conversations on Personal Experiences.” As the title suggests\, our aim is to create a safe space where visitors\, guided by qualified facilitators\, can reflect on and share personal experiences from a decade that has\, directly or indirectly\, shaped us all in different ways. \nMental health professionals will guide participants through these sessions\, offering an opportunity to reflect on how the museum content resonates with their personal experiences\, to explore connections between the exhibition narratives and their own individual or family memories\, and to share these insights with others at a pace and in a way that feels appropriate to them. \nWe believe that stories connect people on a deeper level. For this reason\, we are opening this space for intergenerational and interpersonal exchange\, bringing together those who were adults during the Nineties\, those who were born during that time\, and those who do not remember the wars but may gain new insights into themselves and the ways in which the Nineties shape their lives and/or family histories today. \nThe sessions will be held regularly\, once every ten days\, starting on Sunday\, April 26\, 2026\, from 18:00 to 19:30\, at the Museum (first floor). The participation fee is 2000 RSD\, which also includes access to the Museum’s permanent exhibition. We recommend visiting the exhibition shortly before the session\, in order to get the most out of the experience and support provided\, though all interested participants are welcome\, including those who have visited the exhibition previously. \nIf you are interested\, please register by completing the form at the following link no later than two days before the event: https://forms.gle/XaGoSSHMVeuTuKCu7 or write to us on moje.devedesete@museum90.com . In case of high interest\, a waiting list will be created. Registered participants will receive an email with more detailed information. \nNote: This activity is not a psychotherapy session\, nor is it intended as a space for political debate. It is designed solely as a space for reflection and exchange\, helping participants process experiences that may feel overwhelming during or after visiting the exhibition.

SUMMARY:Yugo.logo: Signs by the Roadside - Exhibition by Ognjen Ranković i Antonio Karača
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition „Yugo.logo: Signs by the Roadside” is opening on April 18th at 19:00! \nThe exhibition presents a selection of logos and visual identities created across the territory of the former Yugoslavia. The project’s authors\, graphic designers Ognjen Ranković and Antonio Karača\, have spent years systematically collecting and researching this material\, which they have brought together under the name Yugo.logo.. The exhibition presents a portion of their extensive collection\, directing our attention to a time when graphic design played an important role in shaping public space\, industrial production\, and everyday visual culture. The logos on display are not merely traces of former companies\, cultural institutions\, and brands\, but also testimonies to a broader system of values\, aesthetic norms\, and social aspirations. Positioned between East and West\, and in dialogue with contemporary global design trends of the time\, the Yugoslav graphic design scene of the second half of the twentieth century developed a distinctive and authentic visual language. This language was at once functional\, modern\, and closely connected to the needs of a developed industrial and public sphere. Despite the temporal distance and radically transformed conditions of production and the market\, the works presented here continue to retain their formal clarity\, precision\, and aesthetic relevance. Their visual economy\, wit\, and ability to communicate the identity of a company or institution through the interplay of letters\, words\, forms\, and stylized motifs confirm that these are works of enduring design value\, transcending the historical framework of their origin. \nA particular value of the Yugo.logo project lies in its documentary dimension. Following the breakup of Yugoslavia\, a large part of the material and immaterial heritage related to industry\, production\, and applied art was left neglected\, fragmented\, or irretrievably lost. In this context\, what Yugo.logo achieves through collecting\, systematizing\, and publicly presenting this material constitutes an important act of cultural revaluation. The exhibition title “Signs by the Roadside” further guides the reading of this material toward symbols that were present in everyday life for decades\, and which today endure as visual remnants of a former social and economic system\, as well as of a shared cultural heritage. \nOgnjen Ranković\nBorn in 1991 in Belgrade\, Serbia. Self-taught designer\, researcher\, archivist\, and collector. Independently and as part of various teams\, he has participated in the realization of more than 150 commercial projects and over 50 projects in the field of independent culture. He is the founder of the Yugo.logo project\, the author of two Yugo.logo books\, and co-author of 20 yugo.logo exhibitions (Serbia\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, Montenegro\, Croatia\, North Macedonia\, and Italy). \n\nAntonio Karača\nBorn in 1988 in Požega\, Croatia. Designer\, publisher\, mentor\, and lecturer. He completed his Master’s degree in Visual Communications Design at the University of Zagreb. He is the recipient of multiple recognitions and awards in the field of visual communication and identity design. Since 2010\, he has been a member of Parabureau\, Fahrenheit / McCann Erickson\, and Craft. Since 2017\, he has worked independently as the founder of the Radnja studio (Zagreb). 2023. In 2023\, he launched the Radnja publishing house\, which has so far published two Yugo.logo books and three music albums by artists from the region.. \nYou can visit the exhibition untill Maj 19th\, everyday from 10:00 – 20:00. \nThe ticket price is 300 RSD. By purchasing a ticket\, you support the sustainability and development of the Museum of the Nineties program.

SUMMARY:The Conspirators at the Museum of the Nineties
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, April 6 4. at 7 PM \nThe ticket/donation price is 800 RSD. By purchasing a ticket\, you support the work of the Museum of the Nineties. \nA staged reading of the play The Conspirators by Igor Štiks and Vladimir Arsenijević\, based on the KROKODIL series Common Reading Room. \nDirected by: Boris Liješević\nPerformed by: Svetozar Cvetković\, Isidora Minić\, Dejan Dedić\, Marko Grabež \nWhat happens when\, breaking all laws of space and time\, Bogdan\, Borka\, Mirko\, Sem\, Predrag\, Svetlana\, Saša\, Miroslav\, Daša\, and Danilo meet? And what is their connection to the writers whose surnames are Bogdanović\, Pavićević\, Kovač\, Mehmedinović\, Matvejević\, Slapšak\, Hemon\, Krleža\, Drndić\, and Kiš? What kind of conspiracy are they part of? What kind of action are they calling us to? \nBased on texts published in the Common Reading Room series\, this exciting blend of voices—a linguistic and artistic polyphony—convincingly shows that\, although we now find ourselves divided into different countries\, and many of us scattered across the world\, we are not strangers to one another. Because in literature\, there are no passports. The bonds that connect us\, rooted in a shared language and a rich literary heritage\, are far stronger than the destructive forces that have produced more harm in recent decades than we could have ever imagined. The Conspirators speaks about that harm\, but also about a conspiracy for a different\, better future. Literature plays a key role in it\, as imagination is more important today than ever before. Readers and audiences—those who speak\, use\, create\, and breathe a shared language—are invited on a journey\, or rather an adventure\, of reading\, discovery\, understanding\, and thought. Wherever they may be\, that language belongs to them. This is a statement of resilient optimism and a firm belief that the bonds on which the literary republic of the European South rests will endure. \nDespite everything. Against all odds. \nThe Common Reading Room project by the KROKODIL Association is supported by CCFD – Terre Solidaire; co-produced by My Balkans.

SUMMARY:Presentation of the Book “Such Were the Times” by Jelena Trpković
DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, March 22\, at 7 PM\, we will present the book “Such Were the Times” by Jelena Trpković. \nThe diary entries of painter Jelena Trpković cover the period from 1989 to 2006\, but are most concentrated around the dramatic events of the war years: the siege and bombing of Dubrovnik\, the death of her husband Milan Milišić\, her return to Belgrade\, wartime Belgrade\, and the first post-war years. During this time\, Jelena travels under extremely difficult conditions across a fragmented country\, maintains contact with friends across Yugoslavia\, co-founds peace movements and protests\, and fights against hatred and violence…This authentic testimony is a compelling read and reveals many lesser-known aspects of wartime reality. The book is also a brief history of the cultural scene in Belgrade\, Serbia\, and Yugoslavia during those years. It brings together the names of those who refused hatred alongside those who created it. It is also a story of broken friendships and newly formed\, anti-war ones. Images of destruction and war intertwine with images of resistance. The book is both a chronicle of the Yugoslav drama of disintegration and war\, and of everyday life marked by sanctions\, closed borders\, broken connections\, and constant struggle. It stands as essential reading for understanding “such times.” \nParticipants:Jelena Trpković\, authorIvana Dragutinović Sokolovski\, visual artistTomislav Marković\, publicistDragan Stojković\, publisher (MOST ART JUGOSLAVIJA – Zemun)Đuro Tadić\, co-publisher (Association of Cultural Values – Sisak) \nModerator:Dubravka Stojanović \nExcerpts from the book will be read by:Sergej Trifunović \nThe number of seats is limited. SUMMARY:Talk “March 9\, 1991. - 35 years later”with Vuk Drašković and Jelena Obućina
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the talk “35 years later”\, on Sunday\, March 8 at 7 PM. \nIt has been 35 years since March 9\, 1991\, the largest protest against the government of Slobodan Milošević up to that point. The authorities carried out an unprecedented repressive action against the demonstrators\, using tear gas\, water cannons and even cavalry. One student and one police officer were killed. Vuk Drašković and opposition representatives retreated to the National Theatre building and addressed the crowd from the balcony. In the evening\, tanks arrived on the central streets. Mass arrests began\, and Vuk Drašković also ended up in prison. The next morning\, students left the Student campus\, and after clashes with the police on Brankov Bridge\, they “occupied” the Terazije square. After a few days\, the demands were accepted\, the leadership of National television and the Minister of Police were replaced\, and all those arrested were released from prison. \nCould March 9 have been a turning point in the history of Yugoslavia? Could it have prevented the war? Did Milošević apply such force because of this? \nVuk Drašković and Jelena Obućina will discuss these and many later events. \n  \nThe number of places is limited. Tickets at the price of RSD 300 are available at the Museum of the Nineties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. \nBy purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

A young Srđan Aleksić\, an amateur actor and talented swimmer\, is serving in the Army of the Republic of Srpska. SUMMARY:Panel “Uniformity of Opinion”
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the panel “Uniformity of Opinion”\, dedicated to the recent amendments to the Textbook Law and the announced introduction of textbooks of special national importance. The panel will take place on March 3\, 2026\, at the Museum of the Ninties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade)\, starting at 11:00 AM. \nIn recent months\, the issue of national textbooks has raised serious questions about the direction of education policy. While the executive authorities insist that the state should take a key role in defining “nationally important content\,” part of the professional community warns that such intervention could lead to a narrowing of space for critical debate\, undermine professional standards in textbook development\, and further politicize education. \nWhat exactly do these amendments bring\, and what long-term consequences might they have for future generations of students? \nThese questions will be discussed by: \nProf. Dr. Dubravka Stojanović and Prof. Dr. Dragica Pavlović Babić\, Faculty of Philosophy\, University of Belgrade \nAna Manojlović\, journalist at RTS \nDejan Ilić\, columnist \nGordana Plemić\, Association of Parents \nDositej Jovanović\, Union of Secondary School Students of Serbia \nParticipants will speak about the quality of existing textbooks\, the transparency of procedures for introducing new editions\, as well as possible models that could make the entire process more open and accountable to the public. A special part of the discussion will focus on the availability of information and the role of the media in monitoring education policies—how clear decision-making procedures are\, how accessible data is to the public\, and what challenges journalists face when trying to obtain such information. The panel will also address how education policies\, and the way they are presented to the public\, shape the public sphere and influence the formation of young people’s views. \n  \nThe project is implemented within the “EU Resource Center for Civil Society in Serbia” project\, carried out by Belgrade Open School in partnership with civil society organizations: Novi Sad School of Journalism\, ENECA\, Užice Center for the Rights of the Child\, Nova Planska Praksa\, Sigurne Staze\, Young Farmers of Serbia\, and the international partner\, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. The project is supported by the European Union and will be implemented in the period from 2023 to 2026.

SUMMARY:Discussion “Is There a Way Out of the Past? – Conflicting Memories and the Struggle for the Future”
DESCRIPTION:As part of the series “In the Labyrinth”\, on Saturday\, February 28\, at 7P PM a discussion titled “Is There a Way Out of the Past? – Conflicting Memories and the Struggle for the Future” will take place. . \nThe states that emerged after the breakup of Yugoslavia are sinking ever deeper into the past. Instead of turning toward the present\, they remain trapped in historical narratives that political elites continuously abuse. Maintaining tensions and conflicts is often based precisely on manipulating the past\, as it most easily provokes strong emotions and blurs our view of reality. \nThe discussion will address the normalization of Ustaša ideology in Croatia\, the revitalization of Chetnik ideology in Montenegro\, memory wars in Bosnia and Herzegovina\, the return of Macedonia to antiquity\, as well as the victory of collaborationist narratives in Serbia. Participants will also consider possible ways for societies to resist dark historical revisionism and find a way out of the vicious circle of the past. \nParticipants:\nTea Gorjanc Prelević\, lawyer\nElma Hašimbegović\, historian\nFilip Jovanovski\, artist\nDragan Markovina\, historian\nMina Vidaković\, journalist\nMilivoj Bešlin\, historian\nDubravka Stojanović\, historian \nDue to the limited number of seats\, free tickets can be picked up at the box office of the Museum of the Nintiese (Kneza Miloša 3) every day from 10 AM to 8 PM. \nThe program is funded by the European Union.

SUMMARY:Panel discussion "What do young people know about the Nineties? – Research on Young People’s Attitudes Toward the 1990s"
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the discussion “What do young people knows about the nineties?”on Friday\, February 27\, at 7 PM. \nYoung people in Serbia believe that the nineties are important for understanding the society we live in today. This period is often not taught adequately in schools\, while available sources are frequently biased\, leading to incomplete and limited knowledge about the nineties among the youth. However\, research shows that young people have clear perceptions and beliefs about this period \nWe will talk with psychologist-researchers about how these attitudes develop in generations that grew up after the conflicts\, as well as their psychological and political consequences. \nPsychologists Ana Đorđević\, Marija Branković and Radoljub Jovanović\, as well as historian Adrijana Vlahovljak\, take part in the conversation. \nThe number of places is limited. Tickets at the price of RSD 300 are available at the Museum of the Nineties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. \nBy purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

SUMMARY:Memories We Don’t Have & the History We Create
DESCRIPTION:On February 14\, one year will have passed since our comrade Borka Vasić left us. She was a fighter for human rights\, social justice\, and animal protection. We remember her as a Romani feminist and peace activist. Her activism was never in the spotlight or neatly packaged for social media — it was a daily\, hands-on response to the needs of people and street animals\, work that mostly remained under the radar.Borka’s story is part of the neglected history of our movements\, a history that calls on us to redefine our understanding of activism and our relationship to older activists who have paved the way for us. \nn our effort to open space for a feminist future\, we document the histories of our movements\, especially those pushed to the margins\, such as Romani women’s history. We revise the white\, dominant\, and variously privileged narrative about ourselves\, and we gather to remember\, to question\, to speak\, to mourn\, and to reflect. From these processes emerged the short film “Borka: From the Verb ‘To Fight’”\, produced by Befem\, which we will screen on February 18\, 2026\, at 6 PM at the Museum of the 1990s. The screening will be followed by the announcement of a publication on Borka’s life and engagement\, along with a community conversation about mutual care within movements. Join us for this two-hour journey through our past\, present\, and future.

SUMMARY:“In the Absence of Evidence” — Exhibition by Predrag Koraksić Corax
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition “In the absence of evidence” opens on February 12 at 7 p.m. in the space M90 (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade)\, and will last until March 30 everyday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. \nPredrag Koraksić Corax is one of the most important Serbian political cartoonists and one of the few authors whose works from the nineties seem almost disturbingly current today. His caricatures created during the breakup of Yugoslavia\, the wars and the authoritarian rule of Milošević\, today\, with minimal “aesthetic” changes\, are read again as precise comments on contemporary political reality. Maybe some actors are not present now\, but with a subtle change in hairstyle and facial features\, the same caricatures from the nineties are painfully current and accurately describe what is happening to us today. \nCorax was born in 1933 in Čačak. He spent his childhood in exile\, as his father was killed by Chetniks at the beginning of the Second World War. He completed high school in Zemun and studied architecture in Belgrade. He began working as a cartoonist in 1950 in the satirical magazine Jež\, launching a long and courageous media career that would make him one of the most recognizable critics of political power in Serbia. \nOver the decades\, he has been publishing cartoons in numerous newspapers and magazines\, including Večernje novosti\, Borba\, Naša Borba\, and Vreme. Since the founding till today\, he has been regularly publishing his cartoons in the daily newspaper Danas. In 2004\, he was awarded the French Order of the Legion of Honour for his work. \nCorax’s drawing style\, always unique and instantly recognizable\, was shaped under the strong influence of the American cartoonist and illustrator Saul Steinberg\, which is why his earliest drawings were executed exclusively with pen. Artists such as Pjer Križanić and Ivan Lučev were also among his role models\, with Ivan Lučev playing a particularly significant role: at the beginning of Corax’s career at Jež\, Lučev gave him anatomy lessons and encouraged him to switch to working with a brush\, a technique that would become one of the hallmarks of his artistic signature. Political cartooning was Corax’s primary interest from the very beginning. With the rise of Slobodan Milošević on the political scene\, he began\, without hesitation\, an open and uncompromising critique of the regime and its policies. During the eleven years of Milošević’s rule\, from the 1990s until 2001\, Corax published around four thousand cartoons that clearly\, courageously\, and precisely bore witness to the reality of that time. The exhibition In the Absence of Evidence presents a concise selection of the artist’s works from the 1990s in dialogue with contemporary cartoons created over the past five years and published in Danas. \n \nThe ticket price is 300 RSD.

SUMMARY:Panel discussion “Belgrade is Pazar is the World – Resistance in Novi Pazar in the Nineties and Today”
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, February 10\, at 7 PM\, a panel discussion titled “Belgrade Is Pazar Is the World – Resistance in Novi Pazar in the Nineties and Today” will be held at the Museum of the Nineties. \nDuring the wars of the Nineties\, Novi Pazar and the entire Sandžak region were not only marginalized and demonized in media controlled by Slobodan Milošević’s regime\, but were also sites of war crimes\, as well as severe and systematic violations of human rights\, including the long-term ghettoization of the population. At the time\, most citizens of Serbia were unaware of these events\, and unfortunately\, very little is still known about them in the broader public today. \nIn this context\, it is not surprising that students of the State University of Novi Pazar say that only by joining the contemporary student movement have young people from this region felt\, for the first time\, that they are equal citizens of Serbia. \nSpeakers will address the events of the Nineties\, the current situation at the State University of Novi Pazar\, and collective reflections on how and where to move forward: \nAida Ćorović\, activist \nAntonela Riha\, journalist \nSara Mulić\, student \nDavud Delimeđac\, student \nDragan Popović\, historian \n  \nSeating is limited. Tickets priced at 300 RSD are available at the Museum of the Nineties (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. Free entry for students with a valid student ID. \nBy purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

SUMMARY:Talk with Goran Marković and film screening
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, February 5th at 5:30 PM\, the Museum of the Nineties will host a screening of the films “Kordon” and “Serbia\, Year Zero”\, followed by a discussion with the author Goran Marković. \nOne of the greates Serbian and Yugoslavian filmmaker\, Goran Marković\, will be a guest at the Museum of the Nineties\, where his works “Kordon” and “Serbia\, Year Zero” will be screened before the talk with the author. Both films depict the 1990s in a specific and artistically powerful way. The first one\, a feature film\, deals with one of the special periods during Slobodan Milošević’s rule\, the winter of 1996 to 1997\, when daily three-month protests were held against electoral fraud and when a permanent police cordon was set up in Kolarčeva Street to prevent civic walks. The documentary film “Serbia\, Year Zero” portrays the entire decade and the lives of ordinary people in a personal and intimate way\, from the very beginning of the 1990s to the fall of Milošević’s regime\, while also providing an uncanny parallel and similarity to today’s Serbia \n17:30 – Screening of the film “Kordon“ \n19:00 – Screening of the film “Serbia\, Year Zero“ \nThe number of places is limited. Tickets at the price of RSD 300 are available at the Museum of the 90s (Kneza Miloša 3\, Belgrade) every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. \nBy purchasing each ticket\, you help the development of the program in the Museum of the Nineties.

SUMMARY:Book Launch: Toni by Rumena Bužarovska
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, 3 February\, starting at 7:00 pm\, we will present the novel Toni by Macedonian writer Rumena Bužarovska. Toni is a novel about men who never learned how to grow up and who believe the world owes them something. In her first novel\, Rumena Bužarovska masterfully portrays an anti-hero of our time who is trying to grasp what it means to be a man in a society that is changing faster than he can keep up with. Toni is a lucid study of self-deception\, masculinity\, and tradition—a mercilessly precise examination of society and its delusions—written in Bužarovska’s distinctive style: sharp\, bitter\, and laced with a dose of ruthless humor. \nTickets can be purchased in advance every day from 10 am to 8 pm at Museum 90\, 3 Kneza Miloša Street\, as well as on the day of the event\, February 3.

SUMMARY:KUPEK's 15th Birthday Celebration
DESCRIPTION:As part of the celebration of Kupek’s 15th birthday\, a book promotion of “Pesak pjeskare” by Milenko Bodirogić and a screening of the film “Ramizovo ljeto” by Dejan Kožul will be organized. \n  \nPromotion of the book “Pesak pjeskare” by Milenka Bodirogić \nBy selecting historical events from our region the author takes readers back to 1920\, tracing connections from that period to the end of the 20th century\, as well as our own era. \nThis novel is a testimony that\, like the frequently mentioned painting in the book\, “Self-Portrait with a Memorial” by Ismet Mujezinović\, speaks of everything that influenced the great Yugoslav painter to pause and warn society about the wrong paths it has taken… \n  \nScreening of the film “Ramizovo ljeto” \nDirector: Dejan Kožul \nRamiz Berbić is a former miner who experienced an accident in the Lipnica mine near Tuzla in the late 1980s. He is a former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina… The accident\, the war\, and the conservative environment in which Ramiz lives have brought him to the edge. The system was not benevolent\, but instead of despairing\, Ramiz decides to go out into the street and first speak about the mentally ill\, and then about all the victims of distorted systems and societies – from the victims of war crimes\, genocide\, to the victims of homophobia. Time passes\, and Ramiz still stands alone in the main square of Tuzla. \n  \nAdmission is a donation for the Solidarna Kuhinja

SUMMARY:The Track – Screening of the Documentary Film
DESCRIPTION:Screening of the documentary film “The Track”\, January 28th at 7 p.m. \nDirected by: Ryan Sidhoo \nThe Track is a contemporary coming-of-age story following three teenagers—Mirza\, Zlatan\, and Hamza—chasing their Olympic dreams in post-war Bosnia and Herzegovina. Guided by their coach Senad\, they train on the famous yet neglected bobsled track on Trebević\, riddled with bullet holes\, a relic of the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. Senad’s unwavering commitment to restoring the neglected track reflects his struggle to secure a future for the boys in a country burdened with one of the highest youth unemployment rates in the world. \nThe soul of this story lies in its heartfelt\, sometimes humorous portrayal of friends striving for a better life amidst rekindled nationalism and political corruption. Drawing parallels to today’s global conflicts\, the story follows the boys’ diverging paths as they navigate a world still marked by the atrocities of the 1990s. Ultimately\, what emerges over five transformative years of filming is a love letter to Sarajevo— a resonant story of resilience\, ambition\, and healing. \nThe screening will be in English. Following the projection\, there will be an online discussion with the film’s author. \nEntry is 300 RSD.
