The exhibition The Nineties: From Dissent to Resistance\, presented three decades after the end of the wars\, pays tribute to those who stood against nationalism\, war\, repression\, and injustice\, often at great personal risk. \nA significant segment of the exhibition is dedicated to independent and anti-war media\, both print and electronic\, which played a crucial role in exposing propaganda and reporting on war crimes and authoritarian regimes. The exhibition also explores art as a space of resistance\, highlighting how artists used performance\, photography\, music\, and film to challenge dominant political and ideological narratives. In addition\, the exhibition presents protests\, civic initiatives\, and everyday forms of resistance organized across the former Yugoslavia\, including often invisible yet courageous individual acts of solidarity\, assistance\, and refusal to participate in violence. His caricatures\, in a recognizable style\, with a clear visual language and sharp humor\, simultaneously make us laugh\, provoke and encourage us to think. \n\nPetričić precisely comments on the social and political state of our society\, unfortunately (or fortunately) inspired by an inexhaustible source of information and events that shape our reality.\nDušan Petričić lives and works in Belgrade\, which assures many of his admirers that\, despite everything\, due to such giants – Belgrade is the world. \n\nDušan Petričić was born in 1946. He graduated in graphics from the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade\, where he also began his professional career. Even during his studies\, he became interested in caricature and illustration. He has illustrated numerous children’s books by well-known domestic and foreign authors\, including Duško Radović\, Branko Ćopić\, and Jovan Jovanović Zmaj\, as well as Margaret Atwood and Mordecai Richler. His illustrations have brightened the childhood of many generations. During the 1990s\, he lived and worked in Italy and Canada\, where he achieved a successful career\, and upon returning to Belgrade\, he focused on caricature. Tirelessly and bravely\, almost on a daily basis\, he creates caricatures commenting on the state of our society. He has worked in many newspapers and magazines such as Politika\, NIN\, Toronto Star\, and New York Times\, and recently his works have been regularly published by Radar magazine.
